Difficult Conversations Training

In today's professional world, confidence in engaging in difficult conversations is crucial. Red Earth offers an on-site Difficult Conversations Training session that equips participants with a framework to tackle challenging situations and prioritise psychological safety.

The training focuses on important aspects such as data collection, situational awareness, strategic planning, listening and empathy skills, and striving for mutually beneficial outcomes. Whether you are leading the conversation or the receiver, our PICTURE framework will help you to remain focused and in control.

The interactive training session includes scenario-based training and can be completed in as little as 75 minutes.

Mental Health First Aid Training

A mental health first aid training course accredited by Mental Health First Aid Australia is available for managers, health and safety representatives, and selected employees.

This course aims to provide participants with skills to identify the signs and symptoms of common mental health conditions in the workplace. Additionally, managers will learn practical skills and tools to support their colleagues, employees, or students who may be experiencing suicidal thoughts, workplace trauma, or intensified symptoms associated with mental health issues.

The program can be tailored exclusively for managers or employees and modified to suit the specific operational context. The course content is delivered over two days, which can be consecutive or non-consecutive, and can be conducted onsite to minimise workplace disruption and travel costs.

Workplace Culture and Morale Assessment

According to Gallup 2023, only 23% of Australian employees are fully engaged or emotionally connected to their roles. Therefore, it is crucial to understand your employees' perceptions of their workplace culture, complex people challenges, and suggestions for improvement.

Red Earth employs a variety of quantitative and qualitative data sources, including surveys, interviews, and workshops, to provide you with a clear indication of your workplace's ‘temperature’. Sometimes, internal processes and personnel lack the level of independence and objectivity required to engage with firmly rooted behaviours or practices.

Our approach to cultural diagnostics is built on deep listening at all levels within an organisation because we recognise that each organisation is its own tribe. Our report findings and recommendations will be evidence-based and will clearly identify organisational strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats.

Supporting Men’s Mental Health Training

Mental health issues are a very real and often not talked about underlying reality for men in Australia. In fact, 43% of males aged 16–85 report having a mental disorder at some point in their lifetime. Alarmingly, suicide is the biggest single cause of death for males between 15 and 44 years old (AIHW, 2022a).

Red Earth's 60 minute onsite and interactive "Mentally Healthy Men" training session combines storytelling, theory, and practical exercises. It dives directly into the big issues. The program is developed and taught by experts with real-life lived experience in frontline operational roles in the military, emergency response, and drug rehabilitation.

Our aim is to connect with individuals and support them in the reality that life is not always easy, but we can learn new ways to cope. The training includes an overview of men's mental health in Australia, a discussion on your tribes’ view and experience of mental health stigma or barriers, and simple ways to monitor and improve men’s mental health through a range of practical tools.

Personal Leadership Coaching

Some of the most significant personal and professional development opportunities for leadership come disguised as challenges, adversity, or even failure.

Red Earth's leadership coaching is designed to help you form new ideas and skills and explore character and self-leadership development. Whether you are a seasoned C-suite executive, transitioning from a technical specialist role to a managerial position, or seeking to become more influential in your circle, our coaching program is tailored to your needs.

Psychosocial Hazards and Risk

The 2020 Work Health and Safety Act emphasises mental health on par with physical safety. It introduces a Code of Practice for managing psychosocial hazards. These hazards, encompassing stress, fatigue, bullying, violence, aggression, and burnout, affect employee wellbeing. Factors like workplace culture, job design, and leadership can also exacerbate stress and contribute to poor morale and high employee attrition.

Our Red Earth team is here to guide you through this new legislation, offering education and training for effective psychosocial management. We aim to foster meaningful consultations and practices that reduce psychological stress, enhancing organisational culture and efficiency.
